What is Psoriasis Disease? Learn about it from Dr Manish Bansal Settlement

Topical Specialist Jacksonville Dr Manish Bansal explains psoriasis skin disorders
Psoriasis is a skin condition that causes red, flaky, crusty patches of skin covered with silvery scales. These patches generally appear on your joints like elbows, knees, or scalp and lower back, but can appear anywhere on your body if the problem becomes severe and not treated with time. Most people are only affected with little or tiny patches. In some special cases, the patches can be irritating, itchy, and sore.
Psoriasis is a common skin disorder or condition and anyone can be affected.  There is no specifics to it but yes, it’s the frequent case in age between 15-35 as per  National Psoriasis Foundation. If suffering from this topical disorder and if you are at Initial stage, your skin cells will grow faster than the usual.
The rapid growth of skin cells cause some dead cells and as a result the dead cell starts collapsing and collaborating with the skin surface, as a further result there will be patches and redness, irritation or sore skin.
Topical specialist Dr Manish Bansal says Psoriasis is a chronic condition, but symptoms may improve over time. Before it becomes severe, you need to check it with any reputed and experienced Topical specialist.
Types of Psoriasis:

Plaque Psoriasis- This is the most common type of Psoriasis and this reflect the symptoms those we discussed earlier i.e. red patches, itchy and dry skin.
Guttate Psoriasis: This type of psoriasis can start in childhood or when you are young or in sometimes of your adulthood.
Erythrodermic Psoriasis: This rare inflammatory type of psoriasis can develop over the entire body. Symptoms may include widespread redness, pain, and severe itching.
Pustular Psoriasis: This type of Psoriasis causes white blisters and red skin which further leads to dryness and sore.
Inverse Psoriasis: This type of psoriasis causes red lesions in body folds and the most affected body parts are under arm, under or inside your knee back, inner elbow or so.

Psoriasis Causes:
Exact known cause are not known but Dr Bansal says the reason of Psoriasis may be your immunity and genes. Your body’s T-cells fight viruses and bacteria to protect it intruding and stop them at outer surface. In psoriasis, your T-cells may start to attack healthy skin cells. Your body increases its production of new skin cells as a revert and result to this fresh attack. These new skin cells further move to the outer layer of your skin before dead skin cells shed or remove automatically, thus triggering scaly skin patches.
Psoriasis is a disease that is not a contagious one. However, the condition may run or repeat in families.
Possible risk factors for psoriasis include but not limited to:
As we told family history of the condition
Having a viral or bacterial infection
Certain Obesity
Smoking
Uncontrolled stress that leads to release & triggers your immune system
Use of certain medications, such as those used to treat bipolar disorder and high blood pressure
Psoriasis Treatment as per Topical Specialist Dr Manish Bansal MD:
